Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how tete ("tete", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the tete mobile application (the "App") and this website (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who we are
tete is a personal tennis journal for iPhone. For any privacy matter, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at tete.support@gmail.com. We act as the data controller for the personal information processed through the Services.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. Your email address and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), or — if you use Sign in with Apple — the identifier and, where you permit it, the name and email address Apple provides. Optionally, a display name and profile photo.
- Journal content. The matches, practices, scores, opponent profiles, notes, tags, moods, venues, and photos you choose to record. This content is stored in your private account and is accessible only to you.
- Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics (optional). We record which screens are viewed and which core actions occur (for example, that a match was logged), together with basic device information such as app version and operating system. This data is used solely to understand how the App is used and to improve it. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Diagnostic data. Standard technical logs (such as error reports) may be processed to keep the Services reliable and secure.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- To authenticate you and keep your journal attached to your account;
- To sync your data across sessions and restore it if you reinstall the App;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To monitor the stability and security of the Services;
- To comply with legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Services you signed up for), our legitimate interests (keeping the Services secure, reliable, and improving them), your consent (optional features such as notifications and photo access), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Third-party service providers
We share personal information only with the service providers required to operate the Services, and only to the extent necessary:
- Cloud hosting and database providers — store your journal data, account information, and photos, protected per user with access controls so no other user can read your records.
- Analytics providers — process the optional, anonymous usage data described in section 2.2.
- Email delivery providers — send account emails such as sign-up confirmations and password resets.
- Apple — if you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share your journal with anyone, and we do not use your data for advertising.
5. Photos, notifications, and device permissions
The App requests photo-library or camera access only at the moment you choose to add a photo. Photos you add are stored privately in your account and shown only to you. If you opt in to the weekly reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device; no reminder content leaves your phone.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account exists. When you delete an individual session, opponent, or photo, it is removed from your account. When you delete your account (in the App under Settings, or by emailing us), your account and all associated journal data are permanently deleted from our production systems, subject only to short-lived backups that expire on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict the processing of, object to the processing of, or delete your personal information, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these directly in the App — your data is visible and editable there, and account deletion is available in Settings. For anything else, email tete.support@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored with per-user row-level security. Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider and never stored by us in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this website, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
